Vida, a stunning Mexican Beaded Lizard, is a seasoned reptile model. He boasts the classic black/brown and yellow banded pattern characteristic of his species, with a sleek and captivating appearance.

Unlike some other species of lizards, the Mexican Beaded Lizard is a ground-dwelling reptile, favouring arid regions and rocky habitats in Mexico and parts of Guatemala. Vida embodies the rugged beauty of his natural habitat, with a demeanour that exudes strength and resilience.  He’s a true, living dinosaur that is feared and yet adored by many.

As Vida showcases his vibrant colours true to his species, he embodies the traditional allure of the Mexican Beaded Lizard, captivating audiences with his striking appearance. His sleek beaded scales and distinctive markings make him a standout presence on screen.

One of only two venomous species of lizard (the other being the Gila Monster), the Mexican Beaded Lizard is sometimes nicknamed “the suicide lizard” because the pain from being bitten and the pain upon release of the venom is so intense that it causes the victim to commit suicide.

Vida is named after Nemanja Vidic, famed hard-man defender of Manchester United which his handler feels he truly replicates!

The Mexican Beaded Lizard is renowned for its striking appearance and unique characteristics, making it a popular choice among reptile enthusiasts who have an interest in venomous lizards. Vida’s representation of this iconic species reflects the growing interest in reptiles and their role in popular culture.

Vida the Beaded Lizard is strikingly beautiful and has an incredible personality, including lots of sass, as you would expect to see from a venomous lizard!

He has experience working in studios and has displayed confidence in this environment. It is important to note that the Beaded Lizard cannot come into contact with or be handled by non-licensed people (including crew members and actors) due to the extreme nature of working with venomous lizards.  When threatened, Mexican Beaded Lizards may deliver a venomous bite as a means of self-defence. However, they are generally docile and reluctant to use their venom unless provoked.

Working with this type of animal must not be taken lightly, however, our expert handlers at The Animal Talent can advise upon correct filming procedures.  The Beaded Lizard can only be handled by DWA License holders as per the legal requirements.  They are an impressive species and require professional supervision and expert handling.

Mexican Beaded Lizards are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active during the night and seek shelter during the day to avoid the heat.  However, Vida is well acclimatised to different environments and is happy to work during the day as required.

Vida is an agile mover and is trained to work to target sticks as well as being handled comfortably by his professional handler (who is the only person legally allowed to handle him).  These lizards are notoriously “spicy” and difficult to handle, so it’s a real achievement that Vida is a confident boy.

Vida is capable of performing a variety of roles and these opportunities may include wildlife documentaries focusing on the diverse ecosystems of Mexico and Guatemala or providing insight into the behaviours, habitats, and conservation status of the species.

You may also consider educational programs or environmental campaigns aimed at teaching viewers about reptile biology, ecology, and conservation.  His calm demeanour and fascinating appearance would engage audiences of all ages, making learning about reptiles both informative and entertaining.

Hiring a Beaded Lizard like the wonderful Vida will make an impact on audiences.  He serves as a symbol of the rich diversity of wildlife and the importance of conservation efforts in protecting our planet’s precious ecosystems.  Vida is the epitome of fascinating lizards; a real living dangerous dinosaur!

With his captivating appearance and confident presence, Vida is well-suited for a variety of modelling roles. His striking black and yellow markings make him a standout choice, adding visual interest and depth to any campaign or project.

Vida’s experience as a model includes stills photography shoots for social media campaigns.  His calm and confident nature shines through in every setting, making him a valued asset in the world of reptile modelling.  In his previous professional photoshoots, he has coped really well under flash photography and in the chaos of a studio setting. Through this experience he has demonstrated a calm and confident demeanour in the environment.

Vida is suitable for a variety of modelling roles including wildlife photography or even close up studio portraits where Vida’s captivating features and intricate scale patterns make him an ideal subject.

Through species-specific product photography, Vida is a well-bred beaded lizard that is the perfect specimen for product photographers showcasing reptile-specific products (such as terrariums, heat lamps and reptile accessories). His presence would add authenticity and appeal to marketing campaigns targeting reptile enthusiasts and herpetologists.

Photographs of Vida could be featured in educational materials, such as books, posters, and online resources, to help students learn about Mexican Beaded Lizards and reptile biology.  His image could also accompany conservation campaigns and awareness-raising initiatives.  Photographs of him in natural settings could inspire viewers to take action to conserve endangered species and their ecosystems.

Vida’s unique appearance and regal demeanour makes him an intriguing subject for artistic photography projects where photographers can experiment with lighting, composition, and perspective to create visually stunning and thought-provoking images.

Vida has experience in a professional studio setting and has shown real composure.  Working with any venomous creature cannot be taken lightly and all appropriate precautions are taken and fulfilled by Vida’s licensed handler.
