Reuben the standard poodle, is an absolutely stunning boy of both appearance and temperament.  He has a fiery red coat and his perfectly quaffed curls are showstopping.

The Standard Poodle is one of the most obedient and intelligent dogs, combining a playful enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. This is a dog that is fond of swimming, running, and retrieving. In France, the dog was also named ‘chien canard’ or ‘caniche’, indicating its duck-hunting qualities.  From its water and herding roots it was an excellent water-hunting companion.   Its coat was clipped to help it swim, but was left sufficiently long on the chest to keep in warm in cold water.  Poodles have also worked as a guide dog, guard dog, military dog, circus performer, and wagon puller

Films such as 100% Wolf, Look Who’s Talking Now, Best In Show, White Chicks, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and animations such as Babe (Pig In The City)  and The Secret Life of Pets are all blockbusters that feature the standard poodle.  They’re a popular dog in comedies and family films as well as dramas and action flicks.  It’s easy to see why with their showstopping appearance.

The earliest ancestors of the Poodle were said to be curly-coated dogs of central Asia, but it is also identified with France.  Fashionable women in France carried poodles as elegant companions, as did the French aristocracy, making it the official national dog.   The earliest breed of this rough-coated dog group was the Barbet seen in Hungary, France and Russia.  Interestingly, the German strain highly influenced the breeding of the poodle we know today. The German word ‘pudel’, meaning to splash or puddle reflects its water abilities.

The breed is sometimes thought to be shy with strangers, yet Reuben gets along with everyone and is very good with children.  He’s a find breed representative that is suitable for a wide variety of media roles.

Standard poodle, Reuben is a talented dog actor and has a wide range of skills applicable to the TV world.  With his experience on set and in studios, Reuben takes a day of filming in his stride and easily chills out between scenes.

His professional handler has worked with Reuben in a variety of situations and Reuben attends live, heavily populated events regularly.  For this reason, he’s particularly well suited to live filming in front of an audience.  His experience as a therapy dog means that Reuben is great with children and actors of all ages, so he can work with any cast member he is presented with.

In the studio, he’s a dog that can repeat actions, so if you have to re-take a scene or a shot, he’s happy to complete repetitive work.  He has a solid skills list and strong obedience that lends itself perfectly to this type of work.

Despite Reuben’s love of mud and water (check out his photos for some laughs), this is a dog that is familiar with the grooming process and can have his hair styled as per requirements.  He is so confident with grooming that he can be filmed  being showered, trimmed and styled on film or live TV.  He also absolutely loves the hairdryer, so if you need him to advertise any grooming or even human styling products, Reuben is your man.

With a fun loving nature, Reuben can be goofy too, despite what his hair cut says.  Filming a comedy?  Reuben has every facial expression and silly tongue out pose you can think of!  This bulletproof dog actor is confident, obedient, skilled and most of course, fabulously attractive.

Reuben is glamorous and elegant, perfect for fashion photography and style shoots.  However, he’s a big lover of running wild in the countryside and loves to jump in water or roll in the mud; if you’re looking for a comic effect, you’ll get that with Reuben; there’s nothing funnier than a well groomed poodle covered in muck!  You’ll have lots of fun shooting Reuben out on location.

With bags of experience in the photography studio, Reuben has worked with props, modelled dog clothes and accessories (even hats), as well as posing in a variety of positions.  As you can see from his photography portfolio, Reuben has done seasonal work where he’s worn Halloween and Christmas costumes, posing with a variety of different props.

He has a solid ‘stay’ and isn’t intimated by heavy lighting or the camera flash.  His abilities open him up to a wide range of branded commercial photoshoots.  A word of warning though, he’s simply stunning and may steal the show!

A fine example of his pedigree breeding, this standard poodle can be used as a representative for breed merchandise such as signage, door hangers, beakers and mugs, calendars and more.  The options are endless.

Reuben is happy to work alongside human models of all ages, as well as other dog models.  He’s a well socialised dog that is super friendly with others.  Reuben really has the cute factor in appearance and nature.

Reuben is a highly experienced dog model and actor and has TV plus photoshoot shoots in his list of credits.  He attends dog events around the country alongside his professional handler.  He’s so cool, calm and collected he also acts as a therapy dog, assisting people with comfort as a stress relief companion.  He’s a bombproof dog that is confident in any surrounding.

He’s experienced with TV studios as well as the photography studio and has excellent capability in front of the camera and under the lights.  Reuben and his handler have excellent set etiquette and are easy to work with in the demanding entertainment environment.
