Reggie the show-cocker spaniel is really unique in appearance and he’s also a super talented doggy. He has cream and chocolate colouring with green eyes; a combination practically unheard of. He’s a real dream boat!
Show type cocker spaniels differ somewhat from the working type cocker spaniels. A show cocker typically has lower set ears and a dome-shaped head. They have thicker, longer fur and are shorter than working cockers in general. Working cockers are usually taller, leaner and have flatter coats with ‘feathers’. However, in temperament, they are very much similar.
Originally bred as gundogs, a cocker spaniels’ natural instinct is to ‘work’. Now, cockers are usually a family companion dog, but their heritage means they remain a capable ‘bird dog’ at heart. This is a great dog to work with for media purposes because of their popularity and also their ability.
They are an intelligent breed that is endlessly loyal and always eager to please. Reggie fits these characteristics perfectly. Also true to his breeding, he is lively yet friendly and a truly adaptable dog. It’s no wonder that so many people love the breed. Famous cocker spaniel owners include George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey and David Beckham and they have featured in movies and popular culture for as long as we remember, most notably in Lady and the Tramp.
Reggie is a kind and gentle soul with an expressive face. He is amenable with a cheerful disposition and is easy to work with. He loves to learn his new tricks and behaviours as much as he loves to play the goof ball, making his humans laugh.
Reggie is a talented cocker spaniel with excellent obedience and he’s a dog that loves to please his handler. He’ll also happily work with others and can follow the lead of actors and actresses as part of a scene if required. Reggie is a well socialised dog that can work with children as well as adults; he just wants to be everyone’s friend.
Reggie’s obedience is a real virtue on set; he follows instructions easily and loves to learn new skills so can work on bespoke scripts prior to filming. He loves to show off a trick or two when the camera is on.
With a sold heel walk, sit, stay and recall, Reggie can also follow the eyeline of the camera; a skill that is really useful to have in his armoury. He’s also an active dog that will happily work off lead and watching him in motion is impressive.
In addition, Reggie can work with any other animal and is dog friendly enabling him to work with other dogs on set or out on location if required. This versatile dog is a real treasure and will be a fabulous asset to your media project.
Reggie the cocker has all the necessary skills as a dog model. With his perfect sit and stay, he holds his head high and has really perfected his posing ability, looking very proud.
He loves to hold things in his mouth and therefore can appropriately carry items for product branding shoots as required. He’s great when working with props and his ability to pose on top of items, working on different surface levels means that you can get exactly the shot required for a commercial photography session.
His chocolate, sable, roan markings (as they’re professionally named) are incredibly striking, even more so because they’re accompanied with glistening green eyes. He looks truly remarkable. We think his colouring really suits a rural backdrop; this is a dog that loves to frolic in grass, woodland, mud and water! If you’re working in the studio, you’ll love capturing his iconic style.
Reggie enjoys wearing dog clothing and accessories and is even happy to wear hats and glasses; something many dogs do not like. This can definitely make for some interesting photos, particularly if you’re working on a fashion shoot.
This beautiful boy is a photographer’s dream; he’s happy to be groomed and styled as required as well as pose in a variety of positions.
To date, Reggie has not had any professional modelling work, however he has honed his abilities for his Instagram and TikTok accounts where he has a loyal following. This micro influencer is followed primarily by other dog owners who love to keep up to date with his adventures and wellness tips. Reggie makes a fine model and we know that this obedient, well-trained dog has a bright future ahead of him.
