Penny is a gorgeous dog model that has the stunning and unmistakable looks of a fit, athletic Hungarian vizsla.  Her sleek fur, healthy build and soulful eyes make Penny a wonderful option for production teams and photographers alike.  She’s a highly obedient dog with bags of character.

While the vizsla’s exact origins are somewhat debated it is generally believed that the breed originated in Hungary.  It is thought to have descended from various hunting dogs brought to the Carpathian Basin by Magyar tribes around the 9th century. These dogs interbred with local breeds and were refined over time to create the Vizsla’s distinctive traits.

Originally bred as hunting dogs for falconers and nobility in medieval Hungary, they were prized for their exceptional hunting skills where they were used to track and retrieve game birds. The breed’s keen sense of smell, stamina, and natural pointing instincts made them highly effective in these roles.

Today, the vizsla is celebrated as an excellent hunting dog, known for its ability to track, point, and retrieve game in various terrains. Also a beloved family companion due to its friendly and affectionate nature, the breed’s striking reddish-gold coat and sleek build make it easily recognisable.

The vizsla’s journey from its origins as a noble hunting dog to its role as a cherished family pet showcases its adaptability, versatility, and enduring appeal. The dog remains a symbol of Hungarian heritage and an embodiment of the strong bond between humans and their canine companions.

The Truth About Cats & Dogs; in this romantic comedy, a vizsla named “Hank” plays a supporting role as the dog owned by the main character’s neighbour.  In  Must Love Dogs a vizsla named “Mother Theresa” is featured in this romantic comedy, adding a touch of charm to the storyline.  Other films featuring vizslas include Contagion, The Sweetest Thing, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and notably Firehouse Dog where a wirehaired vizsla named “Rexxx” takes on a significant role in this family comedy as a firehouse mascot.  We’re sure as can be that it won’t be long before we see Penny in such roles.Top of Form

Penny is an incredibly obedient dog actor that has been well socialised and has fabulous impulse control.  She’s exceptional at working with all animals, including small furries, which is no mean feat for a pointer type dog.  As a mark of Penny’s companionship, she counts among her closest friend, a rabbit!

Penny is also a real outdoorsy dog which is not surprising considering her vizsla breeding.  They’re a dog renowned for their physical activity and their work in the countryside.  If you’re filming out on location, particularly in rural areas, Penny is the dog for you.  She’s a good looking girl that loves being outside, following instructions easily in her natural playground.

This is a dog that is outgoing and has a confident personality; she warms up to crew members and the acting team quickly making her easy to work with on set.  She’s happy to work under strong lighting and has no fear of boom mics or other equipment that she may come across in the studio

Vizslas are an adaptable dog, best loved for their field work; film scenes that are packed with action are most suitable for this breed.  One of the ancient dog breeds with an impressive history, the Hungarian vizsla is a timeless dog with an unmistakable appearance that can be traced back centuries; for this reason, Penny is well suited to period dramas, historical programmes and more.

Having grown up in a busy family home, Penny is great with kids and can work with child actors where necessary.  She’s also great with other dogs and various other animals, opening her up for numerous multi-animal roles.  She is confident and can work among a crowd or in busy environments.

Penny the vizsla is a fine example of her pedigree and her image can therefore be used in breed specific merchandising, such as books, calendars, mugs, door signs and more.  As a young adult, she has a fine stature and an athletic build that is striking in any setting.

She is well suited to work with all ages of models and is happy to pose for flash photography.  Penny is also capable of working with props as required and is happy to model dog clothing and accessories.  Her deep red coat has a beautiful sheen to it and looks fabulous among any number of backgrounds, whether in the studio or out on location.  Penny looks particularly beautiful set against a rural background where she really gets to show off his amiable personality and impressive physique and caring eyes.

Photographers will find Penny a joy to work alongside; she follows instructions easily and has a high level of impulse control.  She’s a true professional.

Penny is yet to have a professional commission, however, her obedience level is such that we trust her in any filming or photography environment.  Not only is she stunningly beautiful, she’s also got a high level of obedience training and is able to follow instruction on set easily.  We’re excited to see Penny’s career progress and know she is destined for great things.
