African Grey parrot, Gracie, is a very good looking girl with razor sharp facial markings, beautiful grey feathers and a dramatic crimson tail.
African Grey parrots can live between 60-80 years in captivity, so Gracie is relatively young for her species. Interestingly, they have been kept as pets for thousands of years and are recorded as being held in captivity even in biblical times.
A great all-rounder bird, they have an uncanny ability to mimic human speech, and Gracie is no exception, though this is not a skill that is available to her on command. Known as the most intelligent of all the parrots, African Greys are also incredibly loyal, often bonding with only one person. Gracie does indeed have a strong bond with her handler, but what makes her so special is that she’s also very sociable.
She is known in her local area as a bit of a celebrity and is often seen out and about enjoying her adventures around the city and its parks. Her handler makes sure she has plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment.
She’s really one in a million; stunningly beautiful, bags of character and lots of skills that make her a shoo-in for all parrot castings.
Experienced bird actress Gracie has had some really interesting roles to date (more about that below). Her striking image is great on film and this in addition to her skills list makes her an impressive parrot to work with.
Gracie is intelligent, motivated and social; she loves the mental enrichment of her training sessions plus the accompanying treats.
This sociable bird knows what it’s like to be in front of the camera, under lighting and with boom mics in sight. She’s familiar with on set environments and can work in the presence of a large production crew.
Capable of working with vehicles, Gracie is actually a fan of travelling on her bike with her handler, as well as enjoying the breeze in the top-down car. Should you require a bird to travel as part of filming, Gracie is the parrot for you. Of course, this also means she’s happy travelling to set and out on location, meaning she’s less stressed when she arrives and also making her available for work around the UK.
Working with props is Gracie’s top skill and she can hold items easily with both feet and her beak. For film and TV roles with more complex briefs, Gracie and her handler are happy to train in advance. She’s really the ideal parrot to work with on set.
Experienced bird model, Gracie, is no stranger to the photography studio. Her previous experience includes fashion stills and we can see why; Gracie is a real stunner. Her monochrome colouring is striking against any background theme and any colour palette. To give that bit of sparkle, Gracie also has a dark red tail feather and golden eyes which really capture attention.
Capable of posing perfectly for stills, Gracie is also elegant in action shots; capturing her in flight is pretty awesome!
She can work with human models of all ages (as evidenced in her prior gigs). She’s very gentle with children and even some other animals. Gracie also enjoys playing dress up and is happy to wear clothing and accessories. This, coupled with her exceptional ability of working with props, Gracie can pose alongside branded products for commercial photography if required.
Gracie is available for outdoors and indoor photography. This exotic bird will add a touch of glamour to any photoshoot.
Gracie has film and photoshoot experience and even has her own IMDb mention for her work on the feature film, Common People. She’s a lovely bird to have on set and is exceptionally well suited for film and photography work.
